It will be a long time before the effects of the October fires are behind us all.  For many, life will never be the same, including the 35 Harrah’s Rincon employees who lost their homes and everything they owned.

That’s why Harrah’s Entertainment has donated $300,000 to their S.T.A.R. (Save, Transform, Assist and Restore) Fund for fire recovery efforts.   The Harrah’s S.T.A.R. Fund is a non-profit organization, administered by the San Diego Foundation, dedicated to helping employees and community members who were affected by the wildfires.

Harrah’s Rincon employees who sustained losses in the fires can apply to this fund for grants to help them rebuild their lives.  And charitable organizations, fire and police departments, and schools in San Diego County that provided services and relief to those affected by the 2007 wildfires are also eligible to apply for grants to assist in their services.

Employees from Harrah’s Entertainment properties throughout the country are also donating to this fund. It’s a way that Harrah’s Entertainment and all Harrah’s employees look out for one another.
