Responsible Gaming From the beginning, both Caesars Windsor and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) have taken a leadership role on the issue of responsible gambling. While problem gambling affects a very small percentage of the population, for those people, and their families, it is a serious problem. One of the most important factors in dealing with responsible gambling is to increase awareness of the issue and where people can turn for help. Caesars Windsor has implemented a program of responsible gambling awareness which focuses on the customer, community and employee awareness. As operator of the first temporary commercial casino in Ontario, the first riverboat casino in Canada, and the first permanent commercial casino in Ontario, Windsor Casino Limited is committed to taking a leadership role in addressing the issue of responsible gambling in the Windsor-Essex County area.
Customer Awareness The message carried by all responsible gambling-related advertising material is "Know Your Limit, Play Within It" in partnership with the OLG's responsible gaming awareness campaign. Printed materials that highlight services offered by the Ontario Problem Gambling HelpLine (funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health) are also available within the casino. Caesars Windsor also includes the Ontario Problem Gambling HelpLine number in all print advertising.
Responsible Gaming Resource Centre The Responsible Gaming Resource Centre opened on November 18, 2005 by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and is operated by the Responsible Gambling Council. The centre is located just steps from the second level of the gaming floor and provides awareness through free programs and services. The centre was initially opened as a pilot project and is now a permanent part of the casino, offering information on how the games work, how to play responsibly and referral services.
Self-Exclusion Program Every casino, slot facility and racetrack in Ontario complies with OLG's Policy on Responsible Gaming, including participation in the "Self-exclusion Program", in which individuals request to have themselves placed on a list of self-excluded persons and refrain from visiting the casino. The self-exclusion applies to all Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and, in Caesars Windsor's case, Caesars Entertainment Corporation gaming facilities, including commercial casinos, slot facilities at racetracks and charity casinos.
